Many people have the false perception that high school students can only choose between two categories: athletics and academics. However, the truth is that you can excel in both worlds, all it takes is hard work, using your talents, and having faith that God will give you the wisdom if you ask for it.
The ability to achieve an A standard depends on the effort that is put into the task. Procrastination and laziness are the two main reasons why many students are not able to achieve an A standard. To overcome these two challenges is to focus more, which means to remove any distractions or to go somewhere quiet. A helpful technique is to take your phone or device that distracts you out into another room. This will help remove distractions so you are able to focus. Colin Powell, a four star general in the United states army, once stated that:
Success is a result from perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence
Even when things seem unsuccessful keep working hard and striving for success. The great Thomas Edison did not design the light bulb in one try, he experienced more than 3000 failures before he achieved what he wanted.
Use your talents
One reason most students do not try in specific subjects is because they think they are not good at that particular subject. The best way to overcome this is to keep trying and use your talents to help you achieve a better grade. For example if your strength is in english and your weakness is in maths, then use your writing skills to increase your grades through assignments. This will increase your confidence in the subject, which might increase your learning abilities in that subject as well. If you really struggle in a subject the first thing you should do is to ask for help especially from your teacher as they might also have good learning techniques. Choosing subjects that bring out your talents should be considered if you are looking at improving your grades.
Observe these paint brushes, they have all different shapes and each create different lines. This shows that everyone has different talents but they can all be used meaningfully to create works of art.
Trust in God
Remember that wherever you come from or whatever problem you have Jesus can help you and is willing to give you the wisdom to help in your school work. In James 1:5 it says:
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
Every hero in the bible receives their strength from God, and His power enables them to defeat giants, fight lions and fight against evil rulers. Whatever giants you face in your life, remember God gives you strength. Even to improve your grades.
