No pain, No gain

Pain, physically and mentally came knocking on the door in the form of operations and braces. Little did I know that this was only to make me stronger.

Over the start of December I have had two operations regarding my broken arm and wisdom teeth. This had changed my joyful life style, with scheduled exercise, to pain and misery as my body healed. It was easy to blame God for allowing, or even wilfully¬†making me endure this pain. Through this, I chose to follow His will and plan for my life whilst being reminded by the Holy Spirit that “NO PAIN, NO GAIN“. Below is a few verses that inspired me from the Bible to persevere through trouble and pain. Here is also a picture of me in hospital, recovering from my arm surgery.

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Ecclesiastes 3:1

“There is a time for everything and a reason for every activity under the heavens.”

Isaiah 66:9

“I will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born, says the Lord.”

Throughout these experiences I have learned that God loves His children and wants to train them to become stronger than they were. Things may seem hard at the moment but if you trust and follow the Lord, He will turn your pain into joy. This is also taught in Romans 8 : 18 which says:

“The pain that you’ve been feeling, can’t compare to the joy that’s coming.”

Now 8 months later I look back at my pain and laugh. My arm has completely healed and has become stronger than ever. Below is a picture of me in the gym with my battle scare.

My teeth have also become better than they were and are still getting better as I have had the privilege of getting braces, making my teeth even straighter.
