Performance benefits of Potassium

Potassium is seen as one of the best electrolytes that is able to support and enhance sports performance. Gathered from the Canadian Academy of Sports Nutrition (2014 – 2018) potassium is able to:

  1. Help prevent post-exercise exhaustion
  2. Support intense training sessions
  3. Aid maintaining normal levels of hormones
  4. May help prevent cramps during and after intense exercise


It may be easy to consume potassium in a supplement form, however, the more natural the better. Eating foods rich in potassium helps you gain other vitamins and minerals that improve performance. Some of the most potassium dense foods include: (WebMD, n.d):

  • Bananas
  • oranges
  • Cooked spinach
  • Cooked broccoli
  • Potatoes
  • Sweet potatoes
  • Mushrooms
  • Peas

By eating a few of these foods before a workout you are able to increase your performance and prevent post training exhaustion. So too must we feed our souls the raw essence of God’s presence, though reading His word and getting to know Him though prayer, as said in 1 Peter 2:2.

Like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation.
