Apple Watch 4 Review

I have had my Apple Watch series 4 since Christmas Day 2018. I really wanted the stainless steel one but these were hard to come by, so I had to settle for the aluminium cellular one, and I absolutely love it. 5 out of 5 stars from me.

If you’re considering getting one, but can’t make up your mind, please read on.

I don’t want to bore you with too many details so I would like to highlight my favourite three features.

  • Beautiful crisp watch faces. I have a few favourite watch faces (many to choose from) that are so crisp that they remind me of some expensive sort of Swiss Watch. Viewing the watch from an angle, even in sunlight is no problem for this watch. You can have as much information displayed on this watch as you want to. I have found that placing too much information on the watch can be somewhat overwhelming though, but that’s not a problem, easy editing allows me to remove information if I don’t want it.

Con: I do catch myself staring at the mesmerising face and whispering: “My… precious”

  • Cellular model is best. Smartphones are so addictive, that’s why I love my Apple Watch. I leave my phone at home now. I can make calls, text, check weather, etc, but I can’t search things on the internet or check my social media apps, now I am returning to normal human interaction. The time spent on my iPhone has been reduced dramatically, which is so nice. I did read some reviews before buying this watch that said call quality was bad, but don’t worry, call quality is really good, you don’t have to hold the watch to your mouth. Just keep it next to your side and keep doing whatever you’re doing with your hands and you can hear and be heard perfectly. Texting is really quick and easy using the dictation method or writing on the screen.

  • Voice activation. I use this often, just hold the watch up as if you want to look at the time and say “Hey Siri.” Siri then listens to, and obeys your commands; sends text messages, makes calls, starts the countdown timer at whatever time you mention (my favourite), set reminders etc. Siri does however sometimes answer me randomly when I hadn’t beckoned her.  I do worry that she sends a weird message to somebody that she thinks I wanted to message. I don’t know how I could explain the unusual message. This has nearly happened before but luckily the watch programming allows you to cancel the text message for a short period before sending.

Con: I do worry about the big curved screen, very conscience that I might scratch it.

I hope that this short review helps you in your decision to buy an Apple Watch. I usually read a ton of reviews before purchasing something, if you are the same sort of person, don’t hesitate to ask me a question about the Apple Watch.

My favourite feature by far though; I set my Apple phone Bible app to send me a daily verse at a specific time of the day. This reaches my Apple Watch even if I leave my phone at home, it gives me something to snack on during a busy day, after all, we do not live on bread alone but on every word spoken by God.

Matthew 4:4

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God
