Full table, Full life

Family time and interaction is one of the keys to a more happy and fulfilled life. Family time has slowly degraded through modern time as technology and media tends to draw us away from reality into virtual reality. Family time is a necessity for normal life and is a blessing ordained by God before you were born. This is clearly referenced in Jeremiah 1:5

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.

Not only in the Bible is family time endorsed but scientific evidence furthermore contributes toward the benefits of family time. The University of South Australia notes that family time is shown to:

  • Create a stronger emotional bond between parents and children.
  • Allow for better communication between family members.
  • Superior performances in school, as children who spend time communicating with their parents tend to get better grades.
  • Less likely to exhibit behavioral problems, since kids with parents who spend quality family time together typically have fewer problem behaviors.

Often family time may seem like a strain to initialise, however, you find so much enjoyment within and after the experience. Here are a few pictures of a recent walk I had with my family, out in the wilderness.

I honestly enjoyed it so much, spending time with my family in the beauty of God’s creation. I challenge you to spend more time with your family whether it be a walk or at meal time. In addition, also let God be apart of your family time who gives you more purpose and fulfilment as said in Psalms 145:15-16

The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season. You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing.
