Christian persecution is intensifying all over the world. But what about the Western World that is “Christian”? If you are from the Western World you have probably noticed an increasing hatred towards anything Christian. I have noticed Christian churches easily compromise Bible teachings with the aim to become acceptable in the community. Take for instance Israel Folau, the rugby star who is doing a great job as an evangelist turning people from sin to repentance. He posted an Instagram post quoting the Bible and referencing many sins that will send you to Hell.
Included in the sin list is homosexuality. So rugby Australia wants to sack him because of this non-inclusiveness! Shame on you rugby Australia!
Even Hillsong founder pastor Brian Houston has called on Israel Folau to abandon his judgmental attitude and embrace love rather than trying to scare people to side with his religious beliefs, WOW, what sort of leadership is that? That’s not what God said, that’s not what the Bible says.
It certainly seems a Bible verse can sting even the Atheist who claims not to believe in God but takes great offence when God reprimands them. I wonder if they’re really just rebellious and deep down inside know that God is watching. For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
I tell you something though, the World has become increasingly hostile towards Christians, but real Christians are running on a Power from Heaven, they are robust. The Israel Folau saga reminds me of Paul’s life in the Bible as a Christian, persecuted for his robust faith but used by God to spread the Good News. Israel’s story has made Australian news all over the world which always includes his Bible quote. Because of his Instagram Post, who knows how many people could now be saved, not only from Hell, but from the destructive life of the mentioned sins.
Christians, I urge you to stand strong and fight the good fight in love with a steadfast faith that is not ashamed or watered down, after all, who are you afraid of, man or God? Who do you want to please, the God of Heaven, or some community that is run by the Devil?
Let’s stand together Brothers and Sisters!
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.
